About Corey Favino

Corey Favino is 24 years old, born and raised in the beautiful ocean state, Rhode Island. He started his adventure into photography about 6 years ago and took on this personal mission to showcase how beautiful the little state of Rhode Island can be.

“Year-round this place blows me away with some of the most unreal beauty in every type of setting crammed into the smallest state in the country. I began surfing around the same time I started taking photos and both of these hobbies quickly took over my life.”

Since graduating from the University of Rhode Island (URI), he has been full-time freelancing and using his flexible schedule to pursue and chase any type of swell that comes his way.

“I’ve recently started combining my love for the two and have adapted into more of a surf photographer where 80% of the time I’m shooting the surf in the water. It’s been the best balance of being fully immersed in the ocean and waves all while being able to capture some of the most beautiful moments in the craziest conditions. Photography has brought me places I would’ve never dreamed possible and each time I pick up my camera it feels just as fulfilling as the first time.”

About the Location

I live right in the heart of Narragansett, RI. A rather small beach town with a very heavy tourist influx come summertime. I’m a very short distance from the beach and a few of our best surf breaks, so when the traffic gets too gnarly, a bike is the best way to get around. As a photographer I'm also a sucker for sunrises and sunsets, so taking the Ballona II out for some morning and evening cruises was a dream. Our iconic towers located right on Ocean Rd have always been the best backdrop for any photo.

Also, a short distance away is a very quaint and rather adorable fishing town called Galilee, where you can get some of the best clam chowder you’ve probably ever had. I ended up taking the bike by car a short distance over to Rhode Island's most recognizable town, Newport, RI. Home to some of New England's most beautiful mansions and scenic vistas, it was the perfect place to cruise around and fully immerse in the summertime craziness.
