Fixtape vol 56 Pat Lok

Fixtape Vol. 56 | Pat Lok

There are plenty ways you can go about wooing your significant other on Valentine’s Day. For some it’s a chance to clean up and sit down for a proper dinner. But for others, its a chance to show your crush a dark, grungy, sweaty disco dance floor portal to another planet. As our next Fixtape artist so eloquently states, “when humans dance in synchrony with each other… the result is an elevated pain threshold, the release of endorphins and a sense of connected oneness.” We couldn’t have said it any better, Pat.

For Volume 56 of the Fixtape Series, we are honored to welcome our bud Pat Lok to the family. He’s put together a collection of sounds for you and yours to bump on this Valentine’s Day. Oh, and if you’re one of those anti-Valentine’s Day hype people, postpone the date and take her to see Pat and friends (Walker & Royce, Curt Reynolds) this Friday at our local watering hole.

In music when two voices move from one position to another, keeping the same interval between them, a distinct sound is created… a chord progression created from parallel harmonies, often found in early house music. When humans dance in synchrony with each other… the result is an elevated pain threshold, the release of endorphins and a sense of connected oneness with others… welcome to Parallel Motion.
